It is officially rooftop season and with a good amount of the population vaccinated we can all finally start to feel semi-comfortable being out and about with our entourage while the weather is cooperative. We all love a good rooftop that boasts swanky decor, Insta-friendly cocktails and picturesque views that will pass the vibe check. This list is composed of some of the most popular bars in some of the most popular cities along the East Coast. Located atop The Kimpton in Tryon Park, Merchant & Trade is a chic hotspot for the professional (both young and old) to wind down and enjoy sensible bites and creative cocktails while taking in the view of uptown Charlotte. Separated by 4 distinct zones (indoor bar, outdoor terrace, private terrace and the lawn) you are able to receive top-notch service at all times. Large groups can be accommodated so bring all of your friends and enjoy the various craft brews from local breweries!
This lush rooftop garden inspired by flowers worn in the crown of muses in classical mythology is located in the brand new JW Marriott building in the newly opened Plant Riverside District. Enjoy botanically based cocktails in an ethereal garden lounge overlooking the Savannah river with views of the Talmadge Bridge. Myrtle & Rose also offers a jazz brunch on Sunday’s from 11 to 3.
Take a visit to the last project from the late Mark Croce, developer of premier spaces in Buffalo. Located in the Upper King Street district of downtown Charleston, this popular rooftop bar is cozy and offers classic libations and seasonal small plates. Stars is the only rooftop bar with 360° views of the historic district.
If you are visiting the city that never sleeps (but loves to dream), be sure to enjoy the one of a kind views of the Empire State Building at this chic penthouse bar and lounge. Nativo is an upscale Venezuelan restaurant located on the 25th floor of the brickell hotel. Executive chef Pablo Lamon serves up flavorful dishes that are beautiful to look at and even better to eat. The Latin flavors are met with cocktails helming a tropical infusion that is reminiscent of the sabor de la cuidad that is Miami. Enjoy bar snacks including jerk chicken wings and crispy octopus during a daily happy hour from 5-7.
