Watermelon Mojito
What drink screams 'Summer!' like a Watermelon Mojito?! This spin on the Cuban classic will take you places. For this recipe, we juiced a watermelon with our cold pressed juicer, you can find fresh watermelon juice at most grocers. We also used a blond rum (Papas Pilar) as opposed to a white rum. This rum is produced by the Hemingway family, which if you didn't know, Ernest Hemingway aka Papa, spenta considerable amount of time in Cuba so it just seemed like a good fit. Enough story time, here's what you need for this delicious drink:
Equipment: Shaker, jigger, muddler
Glass: High ball or Collins
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh watermelon juice
1/2 tspn granulated sugar (fine preferred)
1.5 oz white rum (we used a blond)
10 mint leaves
Ice
Directions:
In your shaker, muddle 1.5 oz (tall side of jigger) of rum, sugar, and mint leaves until mint is well infused. add watermelon juice. Shake well until well blended Pour into Highball or Collins glass filled with ice. Because the mint leaves could clump onto a chunk of ice, we like to use a stirrer afterwards to disperse them for a more aesthetic look. Garnish with mint leaves or watermelon balls (we did both), now ENJOY!
